LifeForce Yoga®

MOOD MANAGING YOGA PRACTICE

LifeForce Yoga® was developed by Amy Weintraub, author of Yoga for Depression and the founder of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute as a means of working with mood management using yogic tools. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 20 million Americans suffer from a mood disorder each year – 14.9 million suffer from depression and 40 million report anxiety. Many have success with talk therapy and/or with pharmaceuticals. Some people are looking for different ways to treat their mood issues and finding great success with yoga. As a result of her own healing practices and spiritual searches Allie now works to share the process of embodying the wisdom of yoga traditions and other contemplative practices with her clients and students. She is a faculty member with the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute.

LifeForce Yoga® is not just yoga poses, although that is a part. LifeForce Yoga finds its foundation in ancient yogic practices (from the Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the Bhagavad Gita, Advaita Vedanta, to name a few sources) LifeForce Yoga empowers the practitioner to manage changing moods. Through the practice of LifeForce Yoga, you will learn to dissolves the blocks that keep you from knowing your deeper self.

LifeForce Yoga® includes:

  • Setting intention (sankalpa)
  • Visualization (bhavana)
  • Breathing techniques (pranayama & kriya)
  • Sound (mantra)
  • Finger yoga (mudra)
  • Postures (asana)
  • Meditation (dhyana)
  • Deep relaxation (yoga nidra)
  • Non-dual strategies for dealing with negative self-talk
